Stephanie Paterson

Dr. Stephanie Paterson specializes in feminist policy studies, focusing broadly on the relationship between public policy and social relations. She examines a variety of issues including the politics of reproduction, midwifery legislation, family policy, conjugal violence against women, and state feminism with particular emphasis on gender mainstreaming. Dr. Paterson is currently working on an FQRSC-funded study investigating the discursive politics of the new midwifery movements in Ontario and Quebec. She is also collaborating on a project exploring the politics of reproduction in Canada with Dr. Francesca Scala (Concordia) and Dr. Marlene Sokolon (Concordia), and is part of the Concordia Ageing Research Network, which is currently undertaking a major study on the multiple facets of ageing.
